History

Sumeru is a multi-national consulting and software services company with 500+ consultants worldwide and offices in India, USA, Germany, Sweden, Nigeria and Australia. Since 2000, we’ve helped businesses across 32+ countries, on the path to meteoric growth with our innovative and customisable software solutions.

Our Lagos office opened in 2011 and assists financial services, trading and FMCG businesses with process-streamlining and automation through world-class technology solutions aimed at supporting more agile and productive teams.

We are dedicated to enhancing the employability of youth in developing countries through improved education and skills development.

Sumeru believes in bettering society. Since our inception in India in 2000, the organisation has been dedicated to enhancing the employability of youth in developing countries through improved education and skills development. We’ve found that when young people are educated and personally empowered, social upliftment follows.

Management team

Mr Patrick Okedinachi Utomi is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria and a former presidential candidate. He is a professor at Lagos Business School and has served in various senior positions in the government as an adviser to the president of Nigeria. He has also served as the Chief Operating Officer for Volkswagen, Nigeria.

Mr Dev Varyani is a seasoned entrepreneur who started his first business in Nigeria 23 years ago. Since then, Vista group has established itself as a market leader across the fields of engineering, education and agriculture, among others, in more than 14 countries in Africap.

Mr Akshay Jain brings an invaluable combination of technical and business skills to the Sumeru table. He has been with the company since its inception and has played leading roles across functions of Software Engineering, Solutions Delivery, Recruitment Channel Management and Business Development. He has also been instrumental in setting up partner networks in India, the Middle East, Europe and South America and is now responsible for Sumeru’s expansion in Africa.

Mr Emmanuel Chiejina is the Chairman and CEO of AshBard Energy and serves on the board of Starco Assurance, F&C Group and Green Technologies Limited. He spent 27 years with Elf Petroleum Nigeria Limited (Total E&P) and retired as Deputy Managing Director in 2007. He is also a director at Sumeru and an invaluable part of our global team.
